Stover, Daniel H and Mathias

Trying to find information on a Daniel Stover. In 1870 he was listed as living with a Sophia Sharrow. In the 1880 census he was listed as Daniel H Sharrar. In the 1860 census the entire Sharrar family was listed as Stovers with Mathias Stover in the household. Is it possible Mathias Stover was the father of Daniel Stover even though he was much older than Sophia Sharrow?
